Nov 21, 1999 Hello, I'm Having trouble building php4.0-b3 on Solaris 2.6 because of the 'bcmath' stuff. Directory ext/bcmath doesn't seem to want to compile. As the files in that dir originally come, (with 'number.c' and 'number.h' both empty files), the compiler complaint list begins with: In function `php3_bcadd': bcmath.c:71: `bc_num' undeclared (first use in this function) bcmath.c:71: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once bcmath.c:71: for each function it appears in.) bcmath.c:71: parse error before `first' bcmath.c:93: `first' undeclared (first use in this function) bcmath.c:94: `second' undeclared (first use in this function) bcmath.c:95: `result' undeclared (first use in this function) This 'bc_num' seems to be defined only in the 'number.h' file of the previous, beta 2, release. Even if I copy in the old 'number.h' and 'number.c' from beta 2, still, at link time, the list of functions at the bottom of beta 2 'number.h', which are used in 'bcmath.c', are found to be 'undefined symbols' by the linker. Has anyone successfully built beta 3 for Solaris 2.6 or thereabouts, or know what my problem could be otherwise? In case it's useful, my 'configure' command was: configure --enable-discard-path --with-gd=no --with-gettext=no --with-oracle=/usr/oracle --enable-short -tags=no --bindir=/opt/php/bin --with-config-file-path=/opt/php --enable-bcmath --enable-force-cgi-redire ct=yes --enable-discard-path=yes --enable-safe-mode=yes Thanks for any suggestions, Robert Boeninger, boe@slac.stanford.edu
