ImageTTFText displays text backwards

Hi, i run a freebsd machine with apache 1.3.9 & php4.0b3 compiled with gd (1.7.3) & libttf (1.3) support.. whenever i call ImageTTFText(), the text displayed on the image is backwards, as if it was in a mirror before being put in the image.. an example i threw together is http://www.cynikal.net/~cynikal/ttf.phtml i've tried playing around with the angle settings but still no luck.. anyone know why this happens or how to fix it?
