I'm trying to use PHP4B3 on a Linux RedHat 6.1 Box, along with
**ORACLE8i** support through php oci7 calls.
I've already tried with PHP3 and it gave me the same result.
The tests I've done were:
1-PHP as a apache module
When I try to create a module all works fine, but when I launch Apache it
simply does not run.
The procedure I'm using is:
./configure -with-apxs=/usr/sbin/apxs --with-oracle -enable-track-vars -->
in PHP4B3 source dir
make --> in PHP4B3 source dir
--> here it says in the end something like
/usr/bin/ld: warning: type and size of dynamic symbol 'ofetch' are not
defined
and for all other calls, 'oclose', 'olog', 'oopen', etc.
/etc/rc.d/init.d restart
and HTTPD does not run at all.
(I've tried also PHP3 as an apache module and the problem is the same)
(I've also tried to build PHP into apache, but it still doesn't work)
2-PHP and a standalone executable
In this way the build work fine, but when I run a script that access the
oracle call it gives me
segmentation fault in PHP4B3.
The procedure I'm using is:
./configure --with-oracle -enable-track-vars --> in PHP4B3 source dir
make --> in PHP4B3 source dir
--> here it says in the end something like
/usr/bin/ld: warning: type and size of dynamic symbol 'ofetch' are not
defined
and for all other calls, 'oclose', 'olog', 'oopen', etc.
and then I run the script using 'php index.php', results in a segmentation
fault error.
the script is simply:
<?php $Link_ID=ora_plogon("user/pwd@database",""); ?>

I'm thinking it is a dymanic library problem, but I do not know what are
the libraries needed by PHP4B3 oracle module, so if anyone can supply me
with the list I could check it out.
Can anyone point me into the correct procedure?
NOTE:
I've had one more problem when installing ORACLE8i. It didn't install the
demo dir where the oratypes.h resides. Anyone got the same problem? I've
installed it using the runInst.sh and not the other one because for some
reason I could not get JRE(java runtime environment) to work properly. Any
comments on this?
