Login script help

I have a login script and I am using the php-based http authorization
method, i created a logout button which is linked to a header for a 401
error which should log out the user, but when i access the script again it
still knows who i am and lets me in! It is not setting any cookies, and i
have cleared all browser cache and history. It is like it is keeping my
$PHP_AUTH_USER and $PHP_AUTH_PASS somewhere on my server, what can i do to
make it totally log out of the script and make the script not recognize me
ANYMORE?
