Thies,
It doesn't seem to work. Who was the Zeus guy that told you that?
Also, Phil is right. There's no mention of it whatsoever on MSDN.

hi, i don't have Win32 installed so i cannot verify this while working on the ISAPI for the zeus web-server one of the zeus-guys pointed out something that would/could make life easier. you can get the authentication information from the HttpExtensionProc() as well. right now we have to have a HttpFilterProc() just to get the USER/PW from the headers of the request but if Nuno is right we might be able to get the same stuff via GetServerVariable(..,"MS_REMOTE_USER",..) and GetServerVariable(..,"MS_REMOTE_PASSWD",..). if that is true there would be a bunch of advantages: - the filter is called for every request - even non php ones! (would be no longer needed) - we get called twice from the same thread (no longer needed) - we would have only one real entry point (HttpExtensionProc()) regards, tc-- Zeev Suraski <zeev@zend.com> http://www.zend.com/Thies C. They are server variables that get set to the user/password that someone authenticates with when doing basic authentication. If you look at the ISAPI reference shiped with Zeus you can read about them and the GetServerVariable() filter/extension function. -- PHP 4.0 Beta Mailing List <http://www.php.net/version4/> To unsubscribe, e-mail: php4beta-unsubscribe@lists.php.net For additional commands, e-mail: php4beta-help@lists.php.net To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php4beta-admin@lists.php.net
