I'm having some weirdness happening with error reporting. I have error reporting in php.ini set to 7, with display_errors set to on. I also have error_log set to /web/log/php.error. Now. When scripts encounter errors... sometimes I get a log entry in my apache error log, sometimes to the web browser, and sometimes to /web/log/php.error ... but it's never consistant, and seems to change every few minutes (maybe depending on which server child it's hitting?) Here's the error logging part of my php.ini: error_reporting = 7 display_errors = On ; Print out errors (as a part of the HTML script) log_errors = On ; Log errors into a log file (server-specific log, stderr, or error_log (below)) track_errors = On ; Store the last error/warning message in $php_errormsg (boolean) error_prepend_string = "</table></form></blockquote></font></div></p>" ; string to output before an error message ;error_append_string = "" ; string to output after an error message error_log = /web/log/php_error ; log errors to specified file ;error_log = syslog ; log errors to syslog (Event Log on NT, not valid in Windows 95) warn_plus_overloading = Off ; warn if the + operator is used with strings .. and the script (it's trying to fail/die) ... <? function test { } function test { } echo "This is a test."; echo substr(444); ?> I don't have any prepends or appends. I'm running Apache 1.3.9, latest PHP4 CVS. Any ideas? -- Justin Matlock Firewind Technologies Group, LLC.
