First, apologies if this is a problem that's already been addressed.
The php mail-to-news gateway is down and I can't seem to find an
archive of the php4beta mailing list, so I can't search. I did look
in the bug database, and it looks like this bug hasn't been resolved
yet. So.
The configuration: php4, beta 2 and beta 3. Apache 1.3.6 and 1.3.9.
Linux 2.2.*. All combinations of these display the same error: After
running for a while (say, a week), the "main" httpd process dies. The
error_log file contains the line:
PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in [no active file] on line 0
Now, this only happens on dual-PII+ machines. We have several
machines running the same httpd binary using the same version of
Linux. (They all boot from the same bzImage file, in fact.) All the
single-CPU machines have httpds that are rock solid; the two dual-PII+
machines fall over in the same way. One of the 2xPII+ machines is
very loaded, the other is very unloaded.
What can I do to help debug this problem?
