Sybase Adaptive Server 11.9.2 and PHP4

Hey everyone--
I just compiled PHP4 from CVS and included Sybase support
(--with-sybase=/opt/sybase-11.9.2) and everything compiles fine....but I
cannot connect to the db at all. I don't get undefined funtion errors or
anything, just the sybase_connect() returns a 0 as the DB link.
Is there something I am missing? I can connect to it fine from my windows
box using the sybase tools and ODBC. Do I need to use the --with-sybase-ct
as well and get the CT drivers? I am confused as to why it doesn't work.
