Nathan,
You may have read my question wrong. I was wondering how to instantiate
Java Objects from within PHP. I currently write Java Code and use servlets
to write most of my event handling and DB stuff. I'm looking into PHP as a
viable solution for re-using my ready-made java classes and instianting them
as objects from PHP explicitly.
I read the /ext/java/README docs that covered how to install Java using the
blackdown port of JDK 1.2.2 and looking for a development machine to test
the ./config and make. At the moment I'm running PHP4 on Apache 1.3.9 w/
JServ Modules running on Linux with MySQL as the DB.. I've found that the
mm.mysql jdbc drivers work well so my servlet code proves. However I would
like to use my java classes from PHP4 and from the docs it looks pretty
straight forward. I'll email you and this list if an when I come across any
more problems. Thanks for the reply though!
-Patrick

: PHP, like Java is a programming language. As such, asking if PHP
: supports Java doesn't really make sense. They are just different ways
: to do the same things...
:
: If you are talking about Javascript (which doesn't really have anything
: to do with Java except syntax) then the question doesn't really make
: sense either. PHP runs on the server and can be used to generate HTML
: and Javascript code which is then run on the client in the users
: browser...
:
: I hope that helps..
