php4 installed...php3 still running?

Hi folks, I apologise if this in in an archive (where is the archive for this list? :) I just ran through the installation of php4 on my redhat6.1 box, with seemingly no problems. My phpinfo() still reports mod_php3, and if I pass .php files to the url, I get the 'download?' thingy in windows. Obviously php4 isn't running. I followed the quick instructions, with the exception of copying a binary... where is the binary? I figured since I was running the mod version of php3, and used the same directions for php4 (with the little changes) that I would have a working module running once I restarted apache. So what did I miss?
