I wouldn't worry too much about this. It will stabilize before any sort
of initial non-beta release. The PHP 3 build process and extensions
hasn't changed in ages. PHP 4 is where we are testing new stuff and new
ways of doing things and will therefore by definition be a bit less stable
at the moment.
