Folks,
I took Mandarin for a couple of terms in college a long time ago. As I
recall, the standard numbering method in Mandarin breaks every four digits,
not three. I'm sure this is true with regard to the words for numbers, i.e.,
instead of 'thousand' they use a word that means 'ten thousand' in english.
Similarly, the next grouping is 10^8, not 10^6. Number_format() doesn't
support four digit ranking.
Of course, I defer to anyone who really knows the facts on this. I
personally thought that their approach is better. :O)
