Dear Lewis and Ruby,
I think, JSP is a interact of Java to web-based
application, as I know java is web-enabled
application. I think JSP will be one of the enemy of
PHP, in embbed HTML war. The other enemy is ASP, Cold
Fusion (my friend loved this software, he used Allaire
HomeSite to create the web pages using them).
I want to tell you a story from my experience.
In my company, AA, I have several developer who used
Oracle Developer 2000, the Finance, Distribution,
Manufacturing are created by Developer 2000. You will
see the Oracle conference or launch for 11i in April
2000, they will launch CRM11i, ERP11i. They are using
the fmb, a compiled version of Developer 2000.
To run them, We can used Developer runtime, but after
version 11, I used ORacle JInitiator a Java 2 Plug-in
like. we can run a .jar file in browser. and the
application show as like a windows dialog in your
browser.
I have several problem, when connect my server in
Malaysia, and access in Indonesia (we using 256kb
Frame Relay connected to Singapore, as a our worldwide
backbone).
I can connect the software from here (jakarta), but
sometimes, disconnected.. ha.. ha.. I don't know what
is the problem.
LAst week I access my SAP R/3 v4 from here to
Singapore. waw ... it is connected...
I access several web from siebel.com a CRM. a sample
of them you can access in www.sales.com, it is working
welll and excellent.
I think that is a benefit of JSP, you can used your
application as a web based system, and a web-enalbed
system. But, I haven't find the web explain the JSP
access COM in Windows environment. AND PHP have java
ext. does, we have to thanks to Ruby for his
contribute.
I think it is a competitive advantage of Java, because
they support 3 tier model programming. I haven't study
of the OOP from PHP, I wish PHP4 can be integrated in
UML, for generate an enterprise apps version of PHP.
Ruby,
Would you post your compiled version of java ext in
the web?
As a man behind java module in PHP, I think you should
upload the compiled the java ext for PHP to the PHP
site.
