Require and No Data Sent

Is require working in php4. I just set up php4 beta 3 on a rh6.0 box and
tried to run phpMyAdmin on it but it returns a no data sent to the
browser. The logs show a 200 return header but with a 0 byte count. It
appears that the script is dying on the requires. Any info on require or
someone running phpMyAdmin on php4b3 would be greatly appreciated.
