This is a good idea but the php.net link doesn't actually turn off the
beta mode if the user has switched it on in their preferences. Is
there/could there be a flag (like ?beta=0) that disables the user
preference while redirecting? Then again this is only temporary while
it's being developed so hardly a priority :-)
