I think we should do our own, not use an out-of-the-box solution.
There's no reason we can't use this as a great way to get the
community involved in the project, as well. If we create a subproject
for PHP design, it would attract less-technical folks who may be quite
creative, and interested in getting their hands into the pot. Plus,
we can release the graphics under the PHP license as well, which means
folks would be free to use them as they wish, which - in turn - means
it helps to spread the word organically. You know --- make them come
to us, not us to them. It would allow us to have an increase in new
ideas and submissions, allowing us to focus on the overall picture
instead of micromanagement of each aspect.
As far as licensing, anything that's equal in or lesser than the
restrictions imposed by CC BY 3.0[1] is fine. However, I don't think
we'd want to use any form of commercial graphics at any point, even if
they were donated, as there's always some form of catch involved.
Again, we should use the power of the community. So many want to help
and don't know how or think they can --- this is the perfect segue
from "how can I help?" to "that was easy, what other things can I do
to help?"
