Your design skills are a welcome addition. Your help is really appreciated! This mockup looks very nice. However, I think we should avoid major changes to the header at this time. Additionally, it is a bit graphics heavy. One of the design goals is to minimize the number of images and rely more on CSS for a minimalist look. We could consider incorporating some of your ideas back into the header (and the footer), but it might be best to focus on the main content area of the home page first. Your mockup for the content area of the home page is not unlike my first attempt, but the feedback I received was that people wanted to see more varied content with less emphasis on the news. This led me to produce the mockup I sent you in my previous email. Could you try again using the existing header from the beta site and a 2x2 layout with a sidebar as per my previous email? I also had some suggestions for what content to place in the 2x2 grid and sidebar. These suggestions were the result of discussions with the list. Thanks again Salah! Stew
