The website recommended I introduce myself and my intentions.
My name is Kevin Nelson. I've been a hobbyist web developer since 1999,
and a professional .NET and PHP developer since about 2003. Honestly, my
preferred language is .NET, but PHP saves me money on my servers...there
are a few things that I think PHP could improve on, which would be of a
great benefit. One of them was already suggested in the wiki: Enums. So,
anyway, I'm just interested in seeing what requests are coming through,
engage in the discussion on them, and see what might be getting added to
PHP in the future. Potentially--once I'm familiar enough with the
procedures and am not being redundant--maybe make some requests (if
allowed) for things such as Generics, Object Initializers, something along
the lines of LINQ, etc., and see if the community is interested. Though, I
realize with the nature of PHP, some of those might not even be possible or
practical.
Not sure which e-mail this is going to say it's from as I normally have
gmail send from my domain e-mail. So, anyway, I'm signed up under
ffbulk+php@gmail.com. Username: calamus77.
Thanks,
Kevin
