Hello,
I hope this is the correct venue for this type of complaint. It seemed the
best of the available options.
The comment at url
http://www.php.net/manual/en/language.oop5.php#108744contains
an
inappropriate line (and I'm not talking about the lack of
instantiation):
<?php
$youTrickyLittleBitch->setMyVar('You like that?');
?>
I have exchanged e-mails with the author, Wesley ( wbcarts@juno.com ) and
he has confirmed that the reference to sexualized violence was completely
intentional:
*You are correct by saying it sounds rapey -- that was the intention --
> because there is a lot of code that does nothing but.*
This is completely unacceptable. No one should have to deal with casual
references to sexual degradation while attempting to read PHP
documentation. If there's not currently a site-wide policy against this
sort of thing, there needs to be. Please change the class name and string
value in this example to something less breezily disrespectful, and let me
know what measures are going to be taken to prevent this sort of problem in
the future.
Thank you,
