Hello,
I hope you can provide guidance.
Since Feb/2008, we (Santronics Software, Inc) has been working on enhancing PHP support for our Wildcat! application server using an PHP extension. We call it WCPHP or PWE (PHP Wildcat! Extension)
We are about to release PWE to our customers and developer based this month who have been asking for direct support for many years.
I am writing to get information on how I can join the PHP "development" group or get more involved with its future.
It was a very difficult challenging project to get the PWE written and although fielding testing has been a great success, I don't think we have it written optimally. There are many questions we have to improve it. The PWE design was done by collecting pieces of examples from many different sources and it was a "trial and error" because many issues were unknown and I know if I was able to write to the developers group, these questions were very simple to answer.
But it looks like we got PWE done and it is fairly obvious now, the next stage is to create an embedded version. This is why we really need to get into the developer mail forums.
In any case, I tried to subscribe multiple times to the various PHP list and for some reason, each time PHP.NET rejects it. It seems like it doesn't like the idea that I am writing this from my home machine with a dynamic IP address. So I tried it from our company machine and it still doesn't like it. Not sure why this is happening but it appears it is looking at the original hops (received headers).
I really want to subscribe. So if you can help, hopefully you will see this and assist me.
I am eager to get more involved with PHP and I think I can be an major contributor and promoter of PHP. Just a small note, Shane Caraveo was a former employee of ours and was instrumental in getting the initial interest of PHP support in our package. But he left for greener pastures before his extension was completed. We were finally able to revisit it this year and finally complete it, ready to release it this month.
Sincerely.
