I like your way of thinking :) Two more questions, by the occasion:
1) What's the version of PHP on bugs.php.net box? I was looking at wiki.php.net/system but there is no such info.
2) Do you suggest any replacements for APC? I thought about files because the only functions currently used are apc_store() and apc_fetch() to cache SVN users and PHP versions for an hour. In case of using files it will be required to change chmod of cache direcory. Will I be able to do this with chmod() or will it require someone with SSH access to change this?
