Hello webmaster,
Your site is very informative regarding php language. But if I have
something critical to ask where should I do that? Your site must include a
forum or affiliate one forum for PHP.
Presently I have 2 critical questions as ..
1. I have been told that to connect a MySql database through php the MySql
server has to be physically installed on the same server as the apache. Is
it true? A little bit of search indicates not. I came to know php can
connect to MySql through TCP/IP and socket. Tcp/ip is default. For socket
connection I came to know MySql server has to be physically installed on the
same server as the apache [ref. phpMyAdmin documentation]. What about
tcp/ip? A real test consisting different physical server will resolve the
matter for sure. But availaing 2 physical server (/pc) is bit difficult for
me. I am now trying to test through some virtualisation (like xen on rhel
5). If there were an official forum that might be of great help.
2. Which one is better a better option for a merchant site a> dot NET with
SSL or B> apache with SSL? A comparative study between the two should reveal
the matter. Your sire does have a note on this issue but that iis not
enough.
You see this kind of questions is better suited for the forum/ community
So my request is please think of providing a official forum with the site.
