Hi all, sarciszewski here.
I've registered because I intend to submit an RFC to deprecate MCRYPT_RAND
in favor of herding developers towards a more robust MCRYPT_DEV_URANDOM
solution for generating random numbers (for IVs, nonces, and/or
application-level encryption keys).
