Dear Sir,
I have a new website written in PHP. The code for the website is
completely original, (with the exception of an open-source PHP RSS
parser.) To write this website I challenged myself to accomplish two
things: 1) Design an interactive website free of Javascript. 2) Design
a website compatible with all languages available through the UTF-8
character set.
In order to accomplish this I had to write string and array functions
that can handle UTF-8 universally. I have several functions that do
just that. I want to contribute these simple functions to future
versions of PHP.
I also have a question regarding my use of PHP: Is my program, (named
YOYO,) actually proprietary? The code is completely original, but my
question originates in the fact that PHP is itself open-source. If PHP
is open-source, is it possible for programs written in PHP to be
legally proprietary?
Sincerely,
Christopher Isaac Deilson
