The IRC might help developers but you pages would help us faster help if a
pros and cons section plus a known issues(cons) section for critical
resource methods like mail() was part of php.net function reference pages.
Specific information I am looking for, as an example:
- can mail() frequently block an application due to conditions or
loading; and would forking away the mail() be a proposed solution over said
scene.
- if mail() fails more often then other solutions then the known problem
scenes are more or less of a concern for me only when I am aware of what
those problem scenes are? (comments bashing mail() on internet led me to
ask this... but maybe those comments are unfounded because problems with
mail() beyond configuration were not pinpointed
