Hi, Of course I can, this is about inner classes.. I think static inner classes are very necessary and important feature and I think is very easy to implement... Despite the fact that new alpha 5.3 release already has namespaces, implementation of static inner classes will be very useful.. Like closures inner classes will increase flexibility of coding. Static inner classes will increase code encapsulation, in OO design there are a lot of cases when it is reasonable not to pollute global scope or particular namespace with unnecessary classes which are related to particular task. Below is one simple example: class MyClass {
     //class is only visible inside MyClass scope
     private static class MyPrivateInnerClass {
          public function __construct() {
                echo "MyPrivateInnerClass";
          }
     }
     public function doSomething() {
         $innerClassInstance = new self::MyPrivateInnerClass();
     }
} If you are interested I can send more comprehensive proposal with detailed examples.
Nah thats cool. Its not my job to judge the proposal. We just get a ton of account requests and few even have a real reason and we just want to make sure that the wiki does not get filled with too much stuff. You should have gotten a notification email, that you now have karma (access rights) for the RFC namespace. Anyways, good luck with your proposal. When you create a new page in the RFC space, it should come up with a template to get you started. That template could use a bit more work. So please have a look at some of the other RFCs as well and provide feedback to this list if you have suggestions for improvements. Have fun and thank you for your contribution. regards, Lukas Kahwe Smith smith@pooteeweet.org
