Hi, I wasn't sure who to send this to, but I think the webmaster is the
place. I can't contact the "PHP Group" directly.
So I only got into php recently setting up a micro-site for adding items
into a database for my company, and displaying them nicely afterwards.
However, I am more a designer. While I was learning I was using
www.php.neta lot, of course, and one thing I noticed was how old the
logo and design of
the site looked. So I went ahead and designed a new logo for PHP, which can
be seen on my blog here:

A lot of programming languages today have been updated and marketed better
than them just existing. Ruby is marketed very well, and Python and other
scripting languages have updated logos and sites. PHP still looks like its
from 1995.
I'm not sure having better marketing will really alter how many people use
PHP, but it might, and if not its still nice to keep your image looking
fresh and updated. So, I don't just want to give you a new logo, but if you
would like to talk about a possibility of using this logo I would love to.
It would look great for my portfolio, obviously. I also do webdesign, if you
wanted that updated to.
Please get back to me with your thoughts if you'd like. Thank you for your
time.
