New Comment:
Understandable, as my message was rather cryptic.
Changing the default of that select box from 'function list' to 'online
documentation' was intentionally made yesterday, however, today it was
reverted back (so, 'function list' is the current default).
Changes to the source code (in CVS) takes time to propagate to the
various php.net mirrors out there so eventually it'll show up to a
mirror near you (usually within an hour or two).
The topic of search improvement is broad and goes well beyond this
particular change. However, it's related, and will be discussed near
that wiki page.

Perhaps I'm just dense today, but I don't understand your answer past
"was intentional". You wrote:

researching the following:

Does that mean you're changing it back to the way it was? (If the
answer is yes, why isn't it working for me yet?) Or maybe "reverted"
means something different to you than to me?
And I have no idea what it means to "research" the link. I looked at
the topics on that page, but I still don't understand what you're
talking about.

Description:
------------
I've been using php.net for over a year, mostly to look up functions in
'function list'. I never had to change the source in the drop-down menu
unless I needed to look elsewhere (usually 'online documentation').
Recently, the webpage insists on changing the source automatically to
'online documentation', even when I've just been looking up something in
'function list'. I checked myphp.net, and the URL search fallback is
set to "function list search", and that seems to work OK. I tested it
by simply entering the word explode in the address box of Firefox.
Has there been a recent change that is making this happen? Is there
something else I can set to make it stay on 'function list'?
I posted this on a PHP users group forum and received a reply that
someone else had also noticed the behavior as well.
Expected result:
----------------
would like the drop-down source menu to remain the same until it is
specifically changed
