I want to be an PHP expert

Hi, i'm looking for a challenging and new career. I'm tired to be a professional is not valued enough, and I'm thinking in work with PHP. But I don't have any information how can I start or if this is a good area to be. If you in my place, what do you do to start? Please, can you advise me? Thank you very much. Cheers.
