Please let us know for what purpose you registered, so that we can set you up with the necessary permissions. Note: If you already have a php.net CVS account - you can use those credentials for the wiki as they contain full write karma to any namespace. -Hannes I'm the main documentation translator to italian for Firebird's project ( http://www.firebirdsql.org ), but actually I'm involved in php_interbase.dll debate trying to solve some problems related to Windows PHP 5.3.0, php_interbase driver and firebird's client libraries.
As per firebird's project, I've compiled a non official PHP5.3.0 VC6 php_interbase.dll for Firebird 2.1 client library, as there are some different POV in .lib(s) and .dll(s) source management: actually VC6 isn't more maintained to compile firebird since 2.0 (last VC6 version maintained in CVS is 1.5.* ). I started writing some of the Wiki page about that, but I'm in some trouble because I don't know if what I've done is in line with PHP desiderata. Try to explain better: actually, there is no way to compile Firebird's client libraries for windows in VC6, only VC8 and VC9 are supported. To build firebird's PHP driver there are choice forced: 1) use precompiled .lib and .h 2) build --with-interbase=shared (not static) So may be that the section I've started, http://wiki.php.net/internals/windows/libs/firebird actually can be partially off-topic, as I can explain detailed process above, but there's no way to build Firebird's client libs with VC6 (fbclient.dll, fbclient_ms.lib, ib_util.lib) as I was told to write by Pierre Jolie. Anyway maybe that some or good part of the job can be ported elsewhere, in a more appropriate page: this is why I stopped. Hope you can give me some hints. Ciao. MImmo.
