My name is Hannes. My dad is Magnus, so please call me Hannes.
What _you_ put on your CV is totally up to you.
If you feel you have made significant contributions to php.net, then
by all mean, put "contributed to PHP.net" on you CV.
Contributing to OSS projects is a _great_ way to "spice" up your CV,
so it is definitely worth it, especially if you are still in school.
Do note:
We expect nothing but _perfection_ from our contributors.
We expect you to know way more then just "how to make hello world PHP
application".
We expect you to know _everything_ that could possibly go wrong.
We expect you to know _everything_ that could possibly happen.
We expect you to know .....
We expect nothing but perfection.
If you "fuck you", we _will_ tell you, so do please try to contribute.
You most definitely will get feedback.
If you suck, we will tell you. If your contribution is *awesome* we
will only say "Ok. This is 'good enough'".
We will not say "thank you!!! this is crazy cool!!! I love you!!!".
If you truly honestly think you can improve php.net we *really really*
honestly want your help - but we _will_ ignore you and "report as
spam" if you turn out to be a newbie who doesn't even know what PHP is
meant to solve.
Keep in mind, we have several mailinglists which are targeted at
specific languages, so if you are a native Spanish speaker you may
want to "google around" for a spanish speaking mailinglist and ask
them for help before you send a mail to "English speaking
mailinglist"...
And at last:
Keep in mind; There are several _hundreds_ of people registered to
this mailinglist.
Every email you send to this list _wastes_ several hundreds of peoples time..
It may only take you 1minute to write the emaill, but if 500 people
spend 1minute reading your email, you have _wasted_ several _hours_
which we cannot collectively get back.. :P
