I'll admit to being previously unaware of this. I'm all for telling IE
6 users to upgrade in the strongest possible terms (and it should be
on every page for the reasons Hannes has posted elsethread while I was
sorting out the screenshots), but I'm not entirely comfortable with a
piece of JS that appears to emulate browser chrome. It feels phishy.
Maybe something more like what Whirlpool does might be better, except
I'd put the bar at the top of the page:
