Not only do I think you're right on track, but I think a specific
category - expanding upon the Webmaster (website) - bug group, would
be for events, user groups, user notes, and email archive submissions.
Essentially, everything outside of bug reports themselves that the
user community submits to the site.
I edited this email before sending it to include the 'email
archive' portion. We do not otherwise broadcast, decisively and
explicitly, that anything sent on the email lists are archived,
stored, and re-broadcast via our own means. Sure, it's understood by
those who regularly participate (and those with at least a primitive
understanding or paranoia of the Internet, one would hope) that this
is the case, but in order to stay ahead of the curve before it becomes
a requirement, perhaps we should add it as well.
Of course, then again, perhaps a one-line note could be of
benefit. Something to the effect of, "Your voluntary submission is in
explicit understanding and agreement that the [PHP group denotation
goes here] Group is not and cannot be held liable in any form for data
storage and/or archival of any data submitted to our systems which may
then replicated or 'mirrored' by any third party, and that requests
for the expulsion of said information be submitted to the presenting
authority, agents, or assigns."
In US legality, run-on sentences seem to be acceptable. Must have
to do with the one-track mind of a lawyer. ;-P Regardless, it's a
nod - however potentially unnecessary - toward the DMCA and other USC
Title 18 obligations we have here in the US. And if it exists (even
in just a similar form), all we need to do is link it.
