This would be something the list admin has to do. I think the idea though is to avoid the clutter of private replies sent to the list. On a list such as this, though, where most replies to technical help queries would probably be OK as a public reply, more useful messages might be lost as accidental private replies than clutter generated by accidental public replies if that were the default. -Mike
