Limit connection/download

Hi, I am using the following configuration: - Apache 3.2.6 (I think) - PHP latest version - MySQL latest version I have a web site with a lot of files that are downloadable only by registered users. Session variables are used to keep track of who is logged and who is not (non-registered users can still browse the files, but not download them). Now, I would like to have a limit of one download/user. Is there a way I can limit the downloads with PHP or even an Apache configuration? I know there is an Apache module that allows restriction on the number of queries served, per IP address, but I do not have VC++ so I cannot compile Apache with the module. Also, I would like the user to be able to browse the files while downloading one, but giving two connections allows for two simultaneous downloads. Any ideas any one?
