Followup to Previous Question on SMTP with IIS

I have used an example from Professional Programming in PHP to analyze my SMTP. It now lists an error instead of the old 'Unknown Error'. Now, the error looks like the following:
SMTP protocol failure (220 ESMTP spoken here ).
Is this a problem with my SMTP server?
