Thanks for the suggestion. The reason for this is I have two sites currently running on two machines and I want to have both sites running on one faster machine. One site already uses Apache with php as a module and the other site is using Netscape with php as cgi. The second site has several dos batch files that are used as cgi programs that run a c program and a php script. Could I avoid the file extension changes by using two instances of Apache?
