giving up on file download ......

hi guys as usual my code aint seem to be working i want to let my user download files from server i have a link in my file which takes me to dnld.php file which has this code i grabbed fron zend.com header("Content-type: application/octet-stream"); header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=$fname"); if (!readfile($fname)) now what goes on is .... when i click the link if offers me to open or save the file no matter what option i choose i get an empty note pad file opened with the name dnld[1].php and not the filename im trying to pass thru to be opened :S .... please pardon my ignorence as i have no clue to whats goin on here will someone please help im lost here ..... thnx a million toby ..... __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
