I am trying to use apache and PHP for offline testing of scripts and can not get the PHP module up and running. Apache was working, then stopped apache, then added the following three lines in the http.conf global enviroment section: LoadModule php4_module c:/Server/PHP/sapi/php4apache2.dll AddModule mod_php4.c AddType application/x-httpd-php .php I also copied all the dll files in the php dll directory to winnt / system32 directory, also copied the php4apache2.dll, and php4ts.dll files to the same directory, copied php.ini to the Winnt directory. I also copied all the php_*.* from the extensions directory to c:\Server\PHP\sapi, also made a change to PHP.ini extension_dir = c:\Server\PHP. Now when I try to start apache, I get the error saying "The requested operation has failed!" Nothing appears in the error log. It appears that by commenting out the AddModule mod_php4.c, apache does start up. One thing I did that may be contributing to the error is that I originally used the PHP windows installer before I realized that this did not include the module version of PHP, so I used windows uninstall to get rid of this version and then downloaded and starting installing the php-4.2.2-Win32.zip file. I also saw a previous email in this newsgroup that said "http://ftp.proventum.net/pub/php/win32/php4.2.x-apache2.zip Replace the php4apache2.dll file with the one in this zip file. It's worked for several people on this board. -Dash" I tried that and still nothing. Anyone have any ideas what is wrong? By the way, I am using windows XP home. -Andrew V. Romero
