Hi
Apologies if I seemed to have taken over this mailing list but there seems to be quite a bit of
confusion generally over getting "phpMyAdmin" working on Windows 98 with Apache 1.3.12 +
PHP4 +
MySQL (shareware version).
I get two situations.
1. Setting ['adv_auth'] = false; gives me a blank screen though the phpmyadmin seems to
have loaded
as the page title is "phpMyAdmin".
2 Setting ['adv_auth'] = true; gives the following message:
HTTP/1.0 401 Unauthorized X-Powered-By: PHP/4.0.1pl2 status: 401 Unauthorized WWW-authenticate:
basic realm="phpMySQLAdmin on localhost" Content-type: text/html
Wrong username/password. Access denied.
I have been using the username "root" without and later with a password but that made no
difference.
I have tried many things including making a file called "hosts" (no extension) and
sticking that in
the windows and then the phpmyadmin directory.
Not quite sure why it has suddenly changed it's name and included SQL in the name.
Everything else works fine.
Somebody save me from this madness !!
Tim
