Win98 + MySQL + mod_php4 + Apache 1.3.12

Hi, all. So far, I've got PHP4 (module) and Apache running together perfectly but now I'm trying to get MySQL working, too. I'm stuck. :/ I've gone to the www.mysql.com site and even found a WinMySQL site but I'm at a loss as to what I actually need to get this working on my home machine (Win98).... I'm betting my complete lack of understanding's due to lack of sleep but if anyone's feeling particularly helpful, could they spare the time to give a complete MySQL/Apache newbie a run-down on what's needed to get all this up and running? Or can someone, at least, point me to any sort of "Tutorial for the Dumb Newbie" that I could work through? I'd be forever grateful! Damn, I hate insomnia.
