Some of the php developers have greatly improved IIS support for the upcoming 4.3 release. I've been testing the actual release candates for PHP 4.3.0 (see http://qa.php.net) with success, i.e. I didn't get the mentioned errors when stress testing my IIS apps. If you need a IIS safe version, I think you should test with 4.3.0 and wait until 4.3.1 for production quality. 4.3.0. has many other new features, usually these are accompanied with as many new errors...
