One thing your note reminded me of was to try using double backslashes "\\" like in C or C++, but that didn't work either. The only occurence of "tmp" in the entire ini file is in the commented variable name: ";upload_tmp_dir =", so the path is coming from another source besides the ini. I've also verified that there are no other php.ini files on my system. Thx, BC
