PHP & MySQL

I installed MySQL and was able to create one database. The next time i tried to create a new database i tried to use a underscore (_) in the table name and it came back with an error that mysql_query() was not a function of mysql. I was able to change this by asigning the CREATE TABLE to $create the next error i got was can not create table.
