Hi guys,
Just to confirm that with the PHP4WIN binaries you need to be running Oracle
8.1.x client.
I tried it against Oracle 8.0.4 (and others 8.0.5) and connections to oracle
from PHP didnt work. Funnily enough i assumed ODBC would work from with PHP
(cause it worked outside) and it didnt. Basically i'd always get TNSNAMES
errors.
AFter installing 8.1.6 it works a treat, thanks to those who helped out.
Unfortunalty you need to have the Oracle Universal Installer to install the
SQL Client and this only appears to come with a full 8.1.6 (this is the
latest) from technet.oracle.com
Has anybody found a client only download? I would assume it came with the
ODBC drivers but you still need the universal installer.
