I took ur advice and changed my code and still no joy....strange? is this a code problem or a server problem? Im using my ISP server SMTP=smtp.freeserve.co.uk I have tried other STMP servers by setting in php.ini (not sure they should work in theory) Is there anything else that needs configuring in php.ini to get this working or even with my freeserve account? IF that all fails has anyone got suggestions of getting round this to be able to send mails? I can only think of downloading a mail server !!!!!
It may be a bug in the mail() problem. Anyway, you may want to try this class for composing and sending messages that comes with a wrapper function named smtp_mail() that emulates the mail() function but sends the messages via SMTP. It supports a directly delivery mode that you can use if you are sending your messages to one or more recipients served by only one SMTP server. This way you will not need a SMTP server. This is also ideal for sending urgent messages as it will not hold the message in an intermediate server. http://www.phpclasses.org/mimemessage You also need this: http://www.phpclasses.org/smtpclass -- Regards, Manuel Lemos
