-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 SAFEMODE is a setting used by highly paranoid ISPs to prevent evil users from running PHP pages that could do anything naughty at all. Its not very well documented, so Im not surprised people know so little about it. It keeps people from opening files that they dont own. It also restricts includes to specific directories, and restricts calls to databases. I'd bet that they locked it down such that you weren't allowed to include files from outside of a particlar directory in your home directory. Try this one: ~/php/includes or, you can try prefixing your local files like this: ./pass.php Other than that, you'll have to email your ISP directly and ask them what you can do to include a PHP file. Its highly dependent on their settings. - -- Brian 'Bex' Huff <bex@stellent.com> PGP Key: http://pgp.mit.edu:11371/pks/lookup?op=get&search=0x5A06A150 | My internet provider is running the server in SAFEMODE, but i dont know what | that means to my PHP programming. | | I cant include a file called "pass.inc" without it makes errors. | | My very simple code lookes like this.. | | <? | include 'pass.php'; | //include_once "adodb/adodb.inc.php"; | //include "common/common_db.php.inc"; | ?> | | The pass.inc file is in the same directory as the php file --- this use to | work -- what am i doing wrong - i hope theres somebody out there that can | help me . | | | -- | Kindest regards | | Henrik Sune Pedersen -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQE+sotqmexGJFoGoVARArEiAJ4jUPSR84Spt4L/GRx0pU8w0ZCUEACcD2Dr GWpwFbZSHsvId8Lh8qI+gEk= =Tty6 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
