If I have any file named with the standard extensions, (.php, .php3, .phtml)
every thing works as planned. But If I embed a php construct in a standard
..html file, it is ignored.
If you want to parse *.html files as PHP, you have to tell your server to do such a thing.
According to what you wrote above, you have told your server to parse files as PHP files only when they end in .php, .php3 and .phtml
If you put PHP code in a file ending in any other extension, it won't parse...you didn't configure the server to do so.
