Hello all,
Stable w2k server at sp3 running cgi php 4.3.2rc1 and
phpbb forum software running a typical 5% cpu load and
has about 100 ip addresses bound to its nic and is used
for virtual web hosting.
phpbb has an inbuilt smtp send routine which just does
not seem to work at all on our server but the option to
use the php smtp function does work - SOMETIMES.
When it does NOT work it is always a script execution
timeout that is the reported error. When it does work
all is well.
Specifying the smtp server address as an ip or fqdn
makes no difference to fail/sucess ratio.
Changing script execution timeout from default of 30
seconds to 60 seconds also makes no difference.
Any ideas?
