I'm new to PHP but wouldn't it be a security risk to allow users to actually view PHP code as it may contain database passwords, etc? For example, the PHP.net site provides code, which asks the user to enter a URL containing a PHP script and the source code of that script is then displayed to the user. -----Original Message----- From: Bryan Shanaver [mailto:bshanaver@hotmail.com] Sent: 21 August 2000 22:27 To: php-windows@lists.php.net Subject: php security in a hosting environment I'm offering php in a web hosting environment, can I disable/enable any php function as I see fit. For example, if I find that users are abusing the show_source() function, can I turn it off?
